E.P.B. commits itself to act as a socially responsible corporate citizen. Our processes are continuously improved to be of better service to people, society and the environment.

2. Environment
  • Suppliers are selected based on their contribution to the environment, the society and people.
  • An independent environmental coordinator performs regular controls and helps us to produce as environmentally friendly as possible.
  • A sustainable purchasing policy and groupage ordering system helps us lower our CO2 footprint.
  • Research concerning total elimination of solvents in secondary products ; no use of solvents in any raw material.
  • Investments and upgrade of production processes to maximize the use of environmentally friendly technologies (study on solar panels).

3. People
  • Support of social charities (Clini-clowns, Cancer League, Rotary, De Wroeter social gardening).
  • Ethical trading policy.

4. Land & Building
  • E.P.B. has a 100m buffer zone with local vegetation to ensure the gradual transition from industrial to a natural reserve, achieved with the collaboration of a local nature protection organization.
  • E.P.B. buildings use the latest isolation technologies to reduce its carbon footprint and lower its energy consumption.
  • Land around the premises are maintained by a local social gardening organization, which only uses natural means to fight the weed.

5. Water & Energy
  • Only uses green energy.
  • Exclusive use of water based and UV inks.
  • Own bacterial activated system with special waste water treatment station for domestic wastewater.
  • Re-use of heat generated by production equipment to lower the CO2 footprint.

6. Packaging
  • 100% use of exchangeable euro pallets and systematic re-use of third party pallets.
  • Waste policy : advanced system of sorting and gathering of all waste streams with limited number of collection to minimize the CO2 footprint.
  • Collaboration with suppliers and customers to encourage the use of thinner materials.
  • As base material of paper is wood, of which biggest part is coming from North European and Scandinavian forests.  The share of PEFC and FSC certified suppliers keeps increasing over the years.

7. Society

The above mentioned actions taken by E.P.B. are leading to enhanced profitable operations which contribute added value to the society.
